SPICED POACHED PEARS
Love this easy, peasy recipe that tastes like Christmas!
Ingredients:
2 Pears, peeled with stalk left on
1 orange, juiced
3 Cardamom pods
3 Cloves
1 Cinnamon stick
1 Star anise
Method:
1- Pour the orange juice into a saucepan with the all the spices
2- Bring to a boil and then turn the heat down to a simmer
3- Add the pears, coat them in the ‘spiced juice’ and leave to simmer with the lid on until cooked
4- Remove pears and allow the sauce to thicken to preferred consistency, ready for pouring
I love to have this warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, or add to your morning muesli or granola with a dollop of greek or coconut yoghurt – too good!
