FRENCH TOAST

This is one of my go-to brunch dishes when I feel like opting for sweet over savoury – an easy, quick and fairly healthy recipe that will instantly fulfil your sweet cravings.

Ingredients

1 cup of milk

2 eggs

1 tbsp honey

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp vanilla extract

6-8 Bread slices

Butter for frying

Method

1- Whisk together the milk, eggs, honey, spices and vanilla extract

2- Prepare a frying pan on a low-medium heat and melt the butter

3- Dip and soak the bread slices in the mixture until well coated, then add to the frying pan in a single layer – cook until browned and crispy

You can serve these with anything – fresh berries, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, a dollop of cream or yoghurt, or even a sizzling slice of maple-glazed bacon…. oh yes..!
